The Staff At
Gracewinds Music

David Monette and world-renowned trumpeter Scotty Barnhart are coming to Corvallis! Mr. Monette and Mr. Barnhart will be at Gracewinds Music on Dec. 8th from 6:30-8:30 pm to hold a mouthpiece clinic as well as a live performance by Scotty Barnhart.

In this clinic Mr. Monette will talk about what inspired his mouthpiece and instrument designs.  He will demonstrate the relationship between the equipment we choose, how we use our bodies in performance and how we take a breath.

There will be plenty of time for Q & A, and many new Monette mouthpieces and a few Monette trumpets will be available for your inspection. Players are invited to bring their instruments if they would like some coaching during the clinic in front of the group or privately afterwards.

A Place for Musical Aspirations to Flourish & Grow

The second floor of Gracewinds will be the center of many forms of mid-valley music instruction.  Led by experienced and qualified teachers, new players can embark on their journey or experienced players can breathe new life into their repertoire by learning new skills. Did we mention the excellent music store downstairs?  Students from the Lesson Loft get a discount from retail prices on goods purchased in the store.

Different Learning Styles for Unique Players

People who play music are unique and creative, and it isn’t surprising that they sometimes have busy schedules.  That being the case; large group lessons, one-on-one private lessons, ensemble instruction and seminars will be available for music students with varying needs and lifestyles.  Our private studios, classroom space and open performance area allow for a myriad of learning activities to fit almost any schedule.

For the Multi-Instrumentalist

Many guitar players and pianists also sing.  Why not take voice lessons as well?  Many singers would like to develop their keyboarding or guitar playing skills.  It’s easy in the Lesson Loft- with a variety of instrumental teachers you can develop your talents in multiple areas without the stressful search for a good music instructor.

The large open area is where you get to shine! Teachers can hold recitals, concerts or jams for students, Gracewinds customers and private concerts.

The Taylor Guitars Road Show is coming to Gracewinds Music! An evening of guitar talk and demos with the Taylor factory staff and guitar makers – straight from El Cajon, California. The Road Show begins at 7pm.

Corey Witt

Five guitars and three suitcases were Corey Witt’s worldly possessions when he left Texas and boarded a plane to Southern California in the early 90′s. In the years that followed, his notoriety as an  accomplished session player, songwriter and tone consultant grew as he has spent the last decade playing and recording with bands throughout Southern California. His credits include performances with American Idol finalists, Katherine McPhee, Phil Stacey, and Chris Sligh and recording sessions for Mothership Creative, Go West Multimedia, and The Stickhouse for clients like Farmers Insurance, Sonic Burger, Pioneer Electronics, Pandora and Disney.

Currently, Corey is enjoying the launch of his first guitar instrumental cd, “Strong” as well as his online side project, TheToneChef.com. And you can find him every other the week of the year in some foreign place while he’s traveling the country as Product Specialist/ Clinician for Taylor Guitars’ award-winning Road Show workshops.
